Accountant I The State of Connecticut Judicial Branch is seeking an Accountant I for the Office of Victim Services – Fiscal Unit. The successful candidate will be accountable for applying professional accounting principles and practices as well as independent analysis and judgment to contribute to the administration of state and federal government-funded programs. Duties will include financial accounting and reconciliation, budgeting and forecasting, and evaluating financial records and reports for adherence to policy requirements. Salary Range: $80,084 - $109,038/year – plus State of Connecticut benefits. New employees begin at the minimum. The starting salary for existing state employees may be higher than the minimum, in accordance with existing Judicial Branch policy. EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING General Experience: Five (5) years of experience in accounting or accounts examining. Substitutions Allowed: 1) College training in Accounting or a related field may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equaling one-half (1/2) year of experience to a maximum of four (4) years for a Bachelor's degree. 2) A Master's degree in Accounting or certification as a Public Accountant or Internal Auditor may be substituted for the General Experience. Special Requirements: Candidates must have a valid motor vehicle operator's license and a motor vehicle available for daily business use. Applications must be received by April 6, 2026.
