Daikin Applied is seeking a Controls Engineer. The Controls Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, testing and implementing controls systems for Daikin's cutting-edge HVAC equipment. Under direct supervision, you will collaborate with project teams, design detailed controls systems, program control sequences and ensure systems operate efficiently and effectively to meet the environmental needs of various customers. Location: Staunton, VA - On-site

Your Responsibilities:

• Provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of varying scope and complexity

• Give advice, analyze information or serve as a professional resource on whom others may rely within a specific function

• Participate as an engineering representative in cross-functional New Product Introduction process

• Evaluate, analyze, and make recommendations on products, designs, and cost improvements to improve the competitive position of the company

• Select materials needed to construct prototypes and supervises the design engineering of new models

• Plan and develop test programs for prototypes

• Analyze test data and reports to determine if designs meet functional, performance, and safety specifications

Your Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree (Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering with Software experience)

• Embedded Software experience

• Knowledge of object-oriented software development

• Knowledge of principles and practices of engineering industry

• PC skills including Microsoft Office applications

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with PLC's and HVAC

• Experience with C or C++, HTML and Linux OS

The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $62,000-$97,600 in Virginia. The range displayedrepresentsthe pay range for all positions in the job grade in which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
