Responsibilities: As an Inpatient Charge RN you will provide direct patient care while leading and coordinating nursing activities on the unit during an assigned shift. This role uses the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, while prioritizing resources and workflow to ensure safe, efficient, standardsbased care delivery. The Charge RN supports clinical staff, oversees patient flow, and promotes a collaborative, patientcentered environment.
- Provides direct patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Prioritizes and coordinates nursing care for an assigned group of patients throughout the shift.
- Ensures care delivery aligns with unit standards, protocols, and evidencebased practice.
- Administers medications and treatments safely and documents according to policy.
- Collaborates with patients, families, and the healthcare team to support care planning and progression.
- Responds effectively to emergency situations and leads the team as needed.
- Delegates tasks appropriately and provides clinical supervision to LPNs and assistive personnel.
- Supports and guides staff during procedures, patient care activities, and workflow challenges.
- Assists with onboarding and mentoring new staff; serves as a clinical resource and role model.
- Maintains professional standards, completes required competencies, and participates in quality and governance activities.
Qualifications:
- Licensure: State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License or Graduate Nurse License required
- Academic Preparation:
Degree from accredited academic nursing program - Minimum ADN preparation with expectation of BSN completion within 5 years of hire
- BLS
