What You'll Do:

Promote Safety. In accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards, take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others. Perform duties safely, responsibly, and proficiently.

Perform General Physical Activities. This position is responsible for servicing all plant equipment. Must be able to climb, crawl, lift, carry, and bend as needed. This is not an all-inclusive list of duties.

Repair and Maintain Equipment. Execute comprehensive preventative maintenance and precision lubrication for all fixed plant assets, including crushers, vibrating screens, feeders, conveyor systems and more. Manage detailed service records and lubrication reports to ensure compliance with VMC manuals and manufacturer specifications. Beyond routine oil and filter services, greasing of the plant, and performing weekly PM's, this role proactively identifies mechanical wear and collaborates with the maintenance team to perform critical repairs and adjustments, ensuring maximum operational uptime.

Inspect Equipment and Structures. Inspect equipment for wear, alignment, and function, and monitor oil flow and temperature by observing gauges to assess performance. Report plant/equipment conditions to the appropriate personnel as required. Perform daily inspections and maintenance of the equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations that maximize production and minimize interruptions.

Qualifications

Skills You'll Need:

Experience. Previous experience in the aggregate or construction industry is preferred.

Knowledge of Best Practices. Knowledge of general principles and practices of industrial maintenance, construction, or aggregate production is preferred.

Flexibility. After training for this role, the selected candidate will have flexibility regarding their weekly schedule. This means you can make your own schedule to fit your personal needs while also completing assigned task. It is required that certain PMs be performed after operating hours, which will require work to be performed on the second shift or weekends. Overtime and extended hours are occasionally assigned depending on customer and company demands. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.

Mechanical Skills. Must have some knowledge of industrial tools, their uses, and maintenance.

Hourly Range. The hourly range for this role is between $22.79 and $34.54. This range does not include our discretionary bonus, shift differential, or equity package. When determining a candidate's compensation, we consider several factors, including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.

Shift Differential. At Vulcan Materials Company, Northeast Division, Night Shift employees are paid a Shift Differential of an additional 20% on their base pay if they work certain hours during the designated time period. We believe the additional compensation helps to offset the inconvenience of working less desirable hours.
