Overview

As an integral member of our Architecture team in Columbia, you will be an important part of the development and execution of complex architectural designs across higher education, K-12, corporate, healthcare, government, and commercial facilities. Your experience will be essential for creating, coordinating, and managing detailed Revit and 3D BIM models, incorporating architectural building systems, envelope assemblies, and interior finishes to ensure compliance with specified quality standards. You will be responsible for integrating code-compliant design solutions that meet client requirements. Working under the general direction of senior architects, you will resolve technical design challenges, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to design and documentation from concept through construction. If you are ready to deliver the infrastructure that keeps the world connected, your next career milestone starts here.

AI and Innovation

As part of our commitment to innovation, all team members will be trained on Microsoft Copilot and empowered to use it as a core tool in their everyday work.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the architectural design efforts from schematic design through construction administration for multidisciplinary projects, focused on higher education, K-12, corporate, healthcare, government, and commercial sectors.
  • Develop, maintain, and coordinate detailed BIM/Revit models to produce accurate drawings, specifications, and schedules; integrate architectural systems, envelope assemblies, and interior components with established design intent, material performance criteria, and applicable codes.
  • Coordinate with MEP, structural, and process engineering teams daily using integrated BIM collaboration workflows and Bluebeam to identify, resolve, and document clashes and design coordination issues.
  • Collaborate with the architectural lead, project managers, and discipline-specific leads to define scope, support workload planning, and deliver assigned work packages in alignment with project schedules, budgets, and established QA/QC standards.
  • Participate in field observations and site visits to verify conformance with design intent, quality expectations, and safety requirements; document findings and assist with preparation of field reports under the direction of senior staff.
  • Utilize digital tools to support early massing studies and conceptual design options, translating design ideas into clear visual and spatial studies.
  • Apply Bluebeam tools for digital markups, drawing reviews, version control, and QA/QC support throughout documentation and submittal review processes.
  • Mentor junior architectural staff on design workflows, BIM integration, technical documentation, and code application to promote continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by incorporating lessons learned, applying evolving best practices, and supporting the adoption of emerging technologies within architectural production and coordination workflows.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture from an NAAB-accredited program.

  • Hands-on experience producing architectural work from schematic design through construction documents, including coordination with multiple disciplines and adherence to established QA/QC processes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to support design reviews, resolve technical issues, and implement design revisions under the direction of senior staff.
  • Experience with architectural visualization and rendering tools such as Twinmotion, Lumion, and/or Adobe Photoshop to support design communication and presentations is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Revit and BIM-based coordination, with the ability to develop, evaluate, and integrate architectural models within multidisciplinary project environments
  • Solid understanding of standard construction assemblies, materials, and sustainable design principles tailored to complex, large-scale projects.
  • Progress toward architectural licensure and professional certifications (e.g., LEED) is preferred but not required.
  • Salary Range: $75,000 - $95,000/year depending on location, education, depth of relevant experience, and any specialized licensure/certifications. Opportunity for ample rewards, leadership incentive components, and generous bonus opportunities.
