Telecommunications Technician - Gulfport, MS (Onsite, 3 Year Contract (Likely to convert at 1 year)) We're supporting a major energy provider in Mississippi seeking a Telecommunications Technician to join their field operations team. This role focuses on installing, maintaining, and supporting critical telecom infrastructure across the region. What You'll Do * Install, maintain, and support fiber optic infrastructure, voice/data networks, and telecom transport systems * Perform reactive and preventive maintenance across digital microwave, fiber optics, LAN, wireless, and voice systems * Troubleshoot and repair RF microwave, fiber optronics, LAN, wireless, alarm systems, DC/AC power systems, and related equipment * Work in the field at various remote telecom sites alongside other technicians * Support 24x7 oncall operations as part of a rotating schedule * Follow safety standards and best practices in field operations * Complete work across substations, telecom tower sites, and transmission rightofways What You Need Experience * 3-5 years installing, operating, and maintaining advanced telecom systems * Experience with at least two of the following: * Microwave (licensed/unlicensed) * Wireless access * Fiber optics (electronics & cable) * Multiplex/DACS * Digital/IP communications * Voice/data networks * EMS/SCADA * LTE RF/Backhaul * Ancillary systems (AC/DC power, grounding, surge protection, facilities, alarm monitoring) Education / History * Associate degree in electronics/telecom, military equivalent, or 5+ years handson experience Physical Requirements * Ability to drive long distances, climb ladders, work above shoulder height, walk on uneven surfaces, and lift up to 50 lbs Other Requirements * Valid driver's license * Ability to work onsite/in the field 5 days per week * Willingness to participate in oncall rotation * Must pass DOT physical * FR clothing, hardhat, and EH steeltoe boots required (some PPE provided) Nice to Have * Experience working in utility, power, or large infrastructure environments * Own work truck (not required) Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Gulfport, MS. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $15.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
