*Description*
The purpose of this position is to act as an internal consultant, collaboratively developing solutions to research requests. In addition, the Data Analyst develops and oversees processes for internal and external reporting, including state and federal reporting, and is required to maintain high ethical standards regarding research practices and privacy protections by applying principles of human research subjects' protections and applicable laws such as FERPA. Duties include programming business intelligence reports; designing and deploying surveys; developing research designs to evaluate the efficacy of operational changes; acquiring data from various sources, both internal and external to the College; providing statistical analysis; creating written reports and presentations; assisting with external reporting such as IPEDS and state submissions; and serving as a research and data expert on college committees. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: This information is intended to be descriptive of the key responsibilities of the position. Data Analysis and Visualization: *Extract, clean, and manage data from institutional systems (e.g., Student Information Systems, LMS, HR, Finance) *Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations to support leadership and departmental decision-making *Analyze trends in enrollment, retention, persistence, graduation rates, and student outcomes. *Partner with stakeholders to define KPIs and performance metrics. *Perform exploratory data analysis, regression, modeling, and statistical inferences, entering, summarizing and analyzing data *Design data architecture within a data warehouse to meet research requirements *Programming ETL processes to merge data across systems and calculate measures to meet research needs Data Integrity: *Maintain security and confidentiality of college data records *Ensure data integrity, governance, and compliance with FERPA and institutional policies. *Verifying information, data, and report accuracy *Document data definitions and report inventories *Maintain data through its appropriate lifecycle Compliance and Reporting *Support state and federal reporting requirements (e.g., IPEDS, MHEC or other regulatory submissions) *Conduct ad hoc analyses for academic departments and administrative units *Develop and execute data reports *Participate in Institutional Research Board (IRB) Survey Administration: *Maintaining campus survey schedule *Managing outgoing and incoming surveys and tracking survey completion *Coordinating/dispatching/collating/analyzing surveys SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
