- Job Title: Accountant IV - Revenue Accountant
- Location: Austin, TX
- Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
- Hybrid schedule: Onsite Tuesday - Thursday. Remote on Monday and Friday.

The Revenue Accountant plays a key role in the month-end and quarter-end close process, performing balance sheet reviews, preparing reconciliations, documenting process gaps, and ensuring the timely completion of all close deliverables. This position requires strong analytical capabilities, the ability to work independently, and effective collaboration within a team of Revenue Accountants. The role also involves attending staff meetings and cross-functional discussions to support broader departmental goals. Key Responsibilities
- Complete monthly and quarterly close activities, including preparing and booking journal entries, fulfilling close deliverables, and maintaining and reconciling deferred revenue balance sheet accounts.
- Conduct balance sheet reviews, perform peer reviews of business partner workbooks, and ensure all work complies with company policies, U.S. GAAP, and SOX requirements.
- Prepare reconciliations, initiate follow-ups, and ensure accuracy across all assigned revenue accounting activities.
- Identify and document gaps within existing process documentation, recommending updates to strengthen clarity and consistency.
- Drive efficiency and scalability by streamlining existing processes and participating in automation efforts.
- Assist in mapping, documenting, and refining end-to-end revenue accounting processes and clearly defining ownership across the team.
- Perform risk assessments and support continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Work with large data sets and understand complex company systems to support accurate reporting and analysis.
- Partner with internal teams on various projects, initiatives, and recurring production tasks that support operational and strategic goals.
- Provide ad-hoc analyses and respond to management requests related to close activities or revenue trends.
- Clearly articulate how revenue accounting outputs impact downstream teams and cross-functional processes.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 7-10 years of experience in accounting.
- Solid understanding of general accounting principles; revenue recognition knowledge under ASC 606 preferred.
- Experience with SAP strongly preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills required.
- Excellent communication, analytical thinking, critical reasoning, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong ability to comprehend information and document processes effectively.
- Capable of working both independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment and navigating ambiguity.
- Strong attention to detail while maintaining awareness of broader business impacts.
- Demonstrates curiosity, eagerness to learn, professionalism, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to build partnerships and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
