Job Summary:

Supports daily asphalt paving operations by performing a variety of tasks involving physical labor, equipment use, and assistance to skilled crew members. This role is essential in ensuring safe, efficient, and high quality jobsite performance.

Main Responsibilities:

* Embrace the Company's safety culture, actively support all safety initiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by the Safety Steering and Continuous Improvement teams
* Support, promote, and practice the Company core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policies
* Safely operate vehicles, tools, and equipment including (but not limited to): onroad vehicles, jackhammers, air compressors, skid plate tampers, shovels, rakes, brooms, concrete finishing tools, and other hand tools.
* Transport tools, materials, and supplies as needed to support project tasks.
* Assist with asphalt paving operations, including preparation, placement, and finishing activities.
* Support minor equipment maintenance and perform cleaning of construction tools and machinery.
* Maintain clean, organized, and hazardfree work areas.
* Work closely with skilled laborers, operators, and craft workers to complete assigned project duties.
* Perform various forms of physical labor necessary to support construction and paving projects.

Education:

* High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Skills:

* Previous experience in asphalt paving, and/or or related field preferred.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
* Strong work ethic with the ability to follow instructions and adapt to changing jobsite needs.

Physical Requirements:

* Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by Company safety guidelines.
* Regularly required to use hands to move and manipulate objects.
* Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear).
* Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
* Standing/working on feet for long periods, and walking across uneven terrain.
* Frequent exposure to loud noise.
* Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles.
* Frequently exposed to fuel, oil, and other chemicals.
* Frequently required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.
* Frequent exposure to loud noise levels.
* Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and overtime; overnight travel may be required.

Benefits and Perks:

Compensation*:$23-$26/hr DOE

*Estimated target starting compensation; actual compensation to be determined based on assessment of an individual's qualifications, education, and experience relevant to the role.
