-Community-based site with a steady patient volume and smoothly functioning daily operations. On average 130 patients per day supported by 13 clinicians.

We're seeking a Medical Assistant Lead who is:
-Hands-on, with a focus on optimizing daily clinical operations/workflows, strengthening team cohesion, and onboarding new team members.
-Excited to partner closely with both the Practice Manager and Clinical Practice Team Lead taking ownership of day-to-day Medical Assistant team operations.
-A go-to resource and leader for the Medical Assistant team, supporting engagement, accountability, and career ladder growth.
-Motivated by mentoring and coaching every member of the clinical team to work up to their job scope and top of their certification.
We are seeking a full-time, 40-hour Medical Assistant Lead to work onsite at our Primary Care practice located at 414 Haverhill Street in Rowley, MA. The practice hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
The role is a vital member of the care team, responsible for exercising appropriate leadership and oversight of clinical operations and Medical Assistant staff throughout the assigned site or department under the direction of the Practice Manager. In addition to performing the duties of a Medical Assistant, the position serves as a role model and resource for site staff. Acting as a liaison between the site-based clinical staff, the Practice Manager, and the Medical Director or Physicians.
The Lead facilitates office-wide communication, coordinates new clinical initiatives, and addresses clinical issue resolutions to enhance operational efficiency.
Essential Functions:
-Assists in complex office-based procedures and provides clinical oversight for quality control programs.
-Provide leadership to the medical assisting team, including training, mentoring, and performance guidance.
-Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring proper workload distribution and effective utilization of resources.
-Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, promoting teamwork and professional growth.
-Coordinate patient flow, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of care.
-Assist with patient intake, including obtaining medical history, vital signs, and preparing patients for examination.
-Participates in the interview process for new MAs and serves as a preceptor for new hires or students, supervising clinic support staff and creating coverage schedules for the MA team.
-Assists with competency assessment for other MAs and provides input on performance evaluations.

Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree?

Licenses and Credentials
Certified Medical Assistant required

Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] preferred

Experience
Experience as a medical assistant, with demonstrated proficiency in clinical and administrative tasks 3-5 years required

Preferred:
  • Primary Care Experience

  • Leadership Experience
