As a Repair Development Engineer, you will work to help coordinate the transfer and analysis of critical parts and technical data, to help provide faster on time delivery and streamline production processes.

What you'll do:

  • Facilitates cross-functional collaboration between engineering and production teams to drive technical solutions and meet operational objectives.
  • Provides the technical expertise and experience necessary to make airworthiness-engineering decisions regarding major repair design activities, according to the company's Design Approval Organization (DAO) standards.
  • Work with cutting-edge and industry leading technology and processes.
  • Identifies and supports implementation of process improvements to enhance component repair capability, turnaround time, and cost performance.
  • Compiles and analyzes repair data, identifies root causes and implements corrective actions, evaluates and improves performance across repair processes.
  • Supports the production development group activity in modifying and refining existing repair schemes to eliminate and/or reduce the number of rejects occurring.
  • Evaluates equipment requirements and provides recommendations to support repair development initiatives.
  • Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.
  • Carries out special projects as assigned.

What skills you will use:

  • Strong planning, organizational, analytical, leadership, interpersonal, decision making, oral and written communication skills.
  • Possess strong project management skills.
  • Familiarity with company processes, instruction manuals, and rework procedures required to support repair and production activities.
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret blueprints.
  • Proficiency with PCs, and ability to effectively navigate operations systems and software application.
  • Working knowledge of precision measuring instruments.
  • Ability to travel up to 10-15% annually to other sites as needed
  • Must be authorized to work in the US.

Preferred Characteristics:

  • University degree in materials science, mechanical engineering or metallurgy; or equivalent preferred.
  • Strongly preferred: 3+ years' experience in production, manufacturing or process engineering roles, ideally in aerospace or related manufacturing industries.
  • Thorough knowledge of aerospace materials and processes.
  • Thorough knowledge of gas turbine engine theory and performance.
  • Fully conversant with testing methods and experiment design to meet airworthiness compliance program requirements.
  • Experience with First Article Inspection (FAI), PPAP, and/or APQP qualification processes preferred.
