Responsibilities

The Registered Respiratory Therapist (CRT) provides safe, evidence-based respiratory care to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in accordance with physician orders, established standards, and hospital policies. The CRT performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to support patients with cardiopulmonary impairments and contributes to interdisciplinary care planning.


Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy.

  • Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential by NBRC.

  • Current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license through the Texas Medical Board.

  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

  • ACLS certification within 6 months of hire (adult-care settings) within 6 months of hire

  • NRP and/or PALS certification as required by the patient population within 6 months of hire

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • One year of acute care experience.

  • Experience working in critical care, the emergency department, or the neonatal ICU.

  • Familiarity with EPIC or similar EMR systems.
