The Marketing Specialist is responsible for defining and amplifying the market positioning of Optum solutions. This role partners closely with product, sales, growth, and marketing teams to develop gotomarket strategies, launch plans, thoughtleadership content, competitive insights, and demandgeneration initiatives that support revenue, retention, and category leadership. Work focuses on both new product launches and ongoing optimization of existing offerings.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Produce insight-centered, on-message content (slideware, blogs, infographics, videos, case studies, white papers) that elevates our thought leadership position, enables meaningful customer conversations and supports commercial activities
  • Identify points of differentiation for best positioning of services and software solutions
  • Support selling and client relationship-building efforts through ongoing and timely communications and delivery of evolving product positioning, updated sales tools and market/competitive analyses
  • Work closely with the product and sales teams to understand buyer needs and pain points and the sales cycle
  • Work with marketing team partners to plan and execute demand generation and market awareness campaigns
  • Assess competitive intelligence to aid strategic decision making, development of key messaging/ positioning and expand understanding of the evolving market landscape
  • Evaluate and help coordinate event and speaking engagement opportunities and work with subject matter experts to develop presentations and collateral to be used at events

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of product marketing experience
  • Experience Developing key product messaging and positioning
  • Have managed complex go-to-market projects
  • Executed launch plans
  • Experience Writing product collateral and content
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Demonstrated success in planning, executing and measuring marketing campaigns in a complicated, matrixed organization
  • Experience managing multiple programs and projects simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience marketing health care technology and services
  • Experience marketing to health systems and health plan/insurance organizations
  • Ability to be flexible and work with ambiguity
  • Solid writing and communication skills

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $72,800 to $130,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
