Rantec isan upper-tier designer and manufacturer of power supplies for the military and aerospace markets. We are an engineering-based company, with expertise in all aspects of power supply design, manufacturing and test. Position Summary The Test Engineering team at Rantec is tasked with keeping the production test environment up and running smoothly to allow our Test Technicians to provide accurate and consistent results. Test Engineering plays a crucial role in ensuring power supplies are properly tested with quality and functionality. This position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, developing and executing meticulous test plans, developing and maintaining test equipment, and providing technical guidance during test activities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities, including but, are not limited to the following:
- Develop and execute detailed test plans, procedures, and test software, adhering to internal quality control standards and industry-specific regulations.
- Write specifications and Statements of Work for new test fixtures and automated test systems.
- Develop test scripts, automated test cases, and test executives based on specifications.
- Collaborate with Product engineers to define, document, and analyze test requirements, equipment, and acceptance criteria for modules, units, and modifications.
- Design, document, and implement test equipment fixtures, cables, and ATEs.
- Conduct cross-functional reviews of test fixture and automated test systems.
- Work with Test Equipment Technicians to build test fixtures and automated test systems.
- Stay up to date with testing methodologies, tools, and industry best practices.
- Identify, document, and track test anomalies by working with Product engineering to ensure timely resolution.
- Troubleshoot and make repairs to complex test equipment and contribute to product issue discovery.
- Perform various types of testing, including functional, environmental, and field tests.
- Perform regression testing through simulation and induced faults to validate new or modified equipment to ensure no new defects are introduced.
- Lead in-house special tests, including operating test instrumentation such as thermal control, data recorders, and analyzers.
- Update internal and customer-visible process documentation to increase efficiency and quality.
- Guide junior engineers and support staff on automated test execution and test equipment troubleshooting.
- Ability to work flexible hours and/or different shifts, as required.
- Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including OSHA, EPA, State and Federal Regulations.
- As the Company's success relies on the productivity of our team and adherence to customer product schedules, an essential function of this position is the ability to arrive to work on-time, and work each day, as scheduled.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field, such as Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
- 5 years' experience in electronics systems testing preferred.
- 5 years' experience in power conversion systems testing preferred.
- Experience with developing and maintaining test executive software (e.g. LabVIEW) with version control.
- Experience with advanced engineering design and analysis tools (Altium, SolidWorks).
- Experience with developing and maintaining databases, and developing applications using the databases, is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot using advanced electronic measurement tools and equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to develop calibration methods for instrumentation.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent ability of written and verbal communication skills for developing processes, procedures, and defect reporting.
- Soldering (IPC J-STD-001 certification) is preferred.
- LabVIEW CLAD certification is preferred.
- Electronics inspection (IPC A-610 certification) is preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
