The Department of Rehabilitation Therapies at the University of Iowa Health Care will be hiring a PRN Senior Occupational Therapist. You will administer treatment to patients with complex physical dysfunctions, disorders and/or injuries and interpret findings. You will be working in an inpatient setting. This position is located at our Medical Center University Campus in Iowa City. Duties to include: * Provide exceptional patient care, evaluation, assessment and treatment appropriate for patients with complex or specialized needs. * Participate in the development of innovative clinical teaching activities to meet the learning needs of staff and students. * Exhibit divisional and/or departmental leadership by: o Serving as a clinical resource and maintain a high level of clinical productivity. o Participate in clinical research and collaborate on special projects. o Assist with setting and accomplishing divisional/departmental goals and assists management as necessary. o Develop, implement and expand learning opportunities and skills development for staff & students. o Assist in establishing new programs, as well as maintaining and developing current programs. o Assist in the administration of the departmental Quality Assurance program. o Participate in the development of service operations, policies and procedures. * Maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and the public. * Additional responsibilities as needed/assigned. Required Qualifications: * A minimum of a bachelor's degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy is required. * Licensure in accordance with the Iowa Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy is required. * 2+ years of experience in Occupational Therapy is necessary, with a high degree of understanding of patients with a wide range of possible dysfunctions. * Demonstrated skills in clinical education abilities. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Desirable Qualifications: * 3+ years of experience in Occupational Therapy. * 3+ years of experience in one or more assigned areas of responsibility is desired. * Demonstrates leadership abilities. * Demonstrates experience as part of a multidisciplinary medical team.
