Overview We are seeking a Certified Central Sterile Technician, sometimes referred to as a Central Supply Tech, Sterile Processing Department Processor (SPD Processor) or Sterilization Technician in our Surgery Department. The Sterilization Technician in the surgical setting will be responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing surgical instruments and equipment to ensure they are safe for use in procedures. They follow strict infection control protocols, operate sterilization equipment like autoclaves, assemble instrument trays, and help maintain a sterile environment to support patient safety and surgical success. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/PRN as needed. Qualifications Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have: 1. High School diploma or GED equivalent required. 2. Sterile Processing Certification required. 3. Ability to read, comprehend and communicate effectively in writing. Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus: 1. Medical Terminology desirable. 4. At least 2 years experience as a Central Sterile Technician in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
