Job Summary:

The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial records and balancing the general ledger, as well as maintaining financial procedures and handling Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.

What You'll Do:

Essential Functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned:



  • Process all invoices for Corporate Companies and initiate payments via the weekly check runs and wires, as needed;
  • Process weekly check runs for all Business Units and sends the banking file;
  • Assist in maintaining the Accounts Payable schedule to ensure received items are paid in a timely manner;
  • Reconcile Accounts Payable and provides needed monthly information for monthly closing;
  • Post intercompany charges to SharePoint monthly;
  • Maintain W-9s and file 1099s and follow TIN matching procedure;
  • Process daily lockbox receipts and posts report on SharePoint;
  • Record all incoming wires and/or ACHs and send report to Business Units;
  • Maintain accounting departments procedures and internal controls;
  • Work closely with EGI Accounting Department to acquire full understanding of the Corporate books, and other business entities;
  • Prepare and enter journal entries;
  • Analyze ledgers and research any discrepancies;
  • Perform account analysis and schedules for internal, as well as auditor, requirements;
  • Interface with outside auditors;
  • Handle information requests sent out to the various divisions;
  • Must have ability and desire to work well with others;
  • Abide by all Company policies and procedures including plant safety regulations and work rules;
  • Meet attendance requirements;
  • Provide back-up support for other accounting functions and completes special projects as assigned; and
  • Perform other duties as deemed necessary.


What You'll Need:



  • Bachelor's Degree in business administration, with a concentration in accounting, finance or commensurate level of related experience and education; and
  • 0 (zero) to 3 (three) years of experience working directly in the Accounting field


Skills and Abilities:



  • High level of proficiency with MS Excel and working knowledge of other Microsoft Office products, Syteline experience a plus;
  • Ability to learn EGI accounting systems quickly;
  • Proven analytical/problem solving skills with solid understanding of accounting theory/GAAP;
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at the highest level;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to plan, organize and prioritize;
  • Proactive as well as detail and results oriented with strong desire to succeed;
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills with ability to maintain good working relationships with co-workers;
  • Work independently (self-directed) by performing with minimal supervision; and
  • Ability to adjust to a continuously changing environment.
