USC's Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry is looking for a talented Dental Patient Treatment Coordinator to join the Advanced Specialties Team!

We are seeking a team-oriented and highly organized Dental Patient Treatment Coordinator to support our fast-paced Advanced Specialties department. This role is ideal for someone who thrives under pressure, manages a heavy workload effectively, and maintains a positive, patient-focused attitude.

Job Accountabilities

The Dental Patient Treatment Coordinator performs a variety of tasks associated with the dental management system, including:

  • Patient registration
  • Insurance authorization and verification
  • Patient scheduling
  • Coordinating comprehensive treatment plans in collaboration with dentists
  • Scheduling patient appointments and monitoring patient flow
  • Working closely with patients to ensure a smooth and positive care experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education: Associate's Degree
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years
  • Expertise:
    • Knowledge of dental management software, particularly axiUm
    • Experience working with basic contracts
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
    • Fluent bilingual English and Spanish speaker

  • Answering telephones
  • Assembling and organizing numerical data
  • Clinical documentation
  • Gathering and communicating information effectively
  • Delivering excellent customer service
  • Maintaining filing systems
  • Prioritizing multiple projects
  • Reading handwritten documentation
  • Scheduling appointments

  • Using a database and word-processing software

The hourly rate for this position is $20.40 - $23.74. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
