Job Objective
The Float Executive Director (ED) is responsible for the day-to-day operations of assigned Great Lakes Management senior living communities in the East Metro region. Assignments may be short- or long-term based on organizational needs and may include supporting communities in transition, assisting with new community openings, onboarding and training new Executive Directors, or leading special projects. This role is accountable for maximizing the value of the owner's investment while balancing the needs of residents and providing strong, consistent leadership to onsite teams. The Float ED serves as the culture keeper of each community, ensuring that Great Lakes Management's mission, vision, and values are consistently upheld.
Essential Responsibilities
Recruit, hire, onboard, coach, and manage community employees Lead performance management and employee relations, including corrective action and terminations as appropriate Oversee all day-to-day operations of assigned communities Establish and maintain high levels of resident, family, and employee satisfaction Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations Oversee and maintain strong working relationships with community Directors Provide accountability to investors and owners by attending meetings and preparing reports as assigned Manage community budgets, including labor standards and operating expenses Understand and manage profit and loss statements; maximize revenue while controlling expenses Collaborate with the Director of Maintenance to establish and monitor capital planning projects Support marketing strategies by reviewing weekly marketing reports, visiting competitor communities as requested, and overseeing occupancy performance relative to budget and goals Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor
Job Standards / Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or a minimum of three (3) years of experience as an Executive Director in senior living (Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care) Must possess applicable state licensing qualifications (Licensed Assisted Living Director (LALD) or Licensed Health Services Executive (LHSE) in the state of Minnesota) Exceptional verbal and written communication skills Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial management Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects Ability to maintain confidentiality related to personnel, financial, and operational matters Ability to work tactfully and professionally with residents, families, owners, employees, vendors, and the public Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; perform basic math Ability to adhere to organizational policies and procedures Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and access to a reliable vehicle
Position Details
Schedule: Monday-Friday Salary: $95,000-$105,000 annually Benefits: Full benefits package plus 401(k) match Growth Opportunities: Yes
