In the role of Safety Advisor | Contractor Safety Management, you will be responsible for administering, supporting, and continuously improving Enbridge's contractor safety pre-qualification and performance management processes. The role provides subject matter expertise, guidance, and operational support across internal stakeholders and external service providers to ensure safe, compliant, and effective engagement of third-party contractors. This position helps uphold safety expectations, regulatory compliance, and risk-based decision making across Enterprise functions.

What you will do:

  • Contractor safety prequalification & risk-based reviews

  • Stakeholder support & SME guidance

  • Business administration of contractor management applications and systems

  • Contractor safety performance monitoring, reporting, and analysis

  • Program training, communication, and awareness

  • Leading annual program initiatives and continuous improvement efforts

This position may also contribute to maintaining, managing, and continually improving other safety programs for the enterprise, and lead team projects and improvement initiatives, contributing to broader safety programs, processes, and efforts to enhance safety culture.

Who you are:

Required:

  • Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field is preferred.

  • Canadian Registered Safety Professional designation/ Certified Safety Professional or other Professional Board Certification preferred.

  • Four or more years of professional work experience in the Health & Safety field in a technical or scientific nature.

  • Solid understanding of contractor safety management practices

  • Influence without authority and the ability to work collaboratively with site partners.

  • Effective interpersonal skills.

Preferred:

  • Proficiency in working with contractor management pre-qualification systems (e.g. ISNetworld)

  • Proficiency in driver safety and commercial motor vehicle programs

  • Certified Safety Professional

  • Ability to work with consultants and external professionals to achieve results on time and on budget

  • Advanced knowledge of related company tools, systems, and databases; company structure and standard operating procedures; and/or office communications technology

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment, requiring extensive work at a desk on the computer and often daily meetings/exchanges both in person and online (e.g. video conference, phone).

  • Up to 10% travel to other locations within North America; valid passport required.

Physical Requirements:

Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
