Overview The Sr. Specialist is responsible for analyzing Operator Qualification trends, managing OQ program updates, maintaining comprehensive reporting and documentation, and administrative systems across multiple platforms. It also oversees major projects such as Annual PE Joining Testing, manages training vendor billing and stipends, and serves as a key liaison for Gas Operations, compliance partners, and external benchmarking groups. Additionally, the position requires strong communication skills to lead OQ-related meetings, support change management processes, and collaborate effectively across all departments and levels of the organization.
Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
- Analyze Operator Qualification trends & resource utilization and make recommendations for improvement of processes to promote excellence using Power BI.
- Work closely with Gas Compliance regarding updates to the Operator Qualification program.
- Maintain documentation and develop meaningful reporting metrics for the Training Skills Enhancement Plan.
- Implement administrative changes necessary in the OQ LMS, Onboard Live, OQ matrix, Contractor OQ matrix, and the Job Function Matrix.
- Participate in OQ Change management process meetings, prepare MOC documentation/forms etc.
- Participate in benchmarking activities with the NGA and outside utilities pertaining to Operator Qualification and Training.
- Host OQ related meetings including the Operator Qualification Committee and provide input & feedback for updates to Gas Operations OQ roles.
- Process all Gas Ops Training Vendor billing via Oracle as well as process requalification stipends.
- Manage Annual PE Joining Testing including but not limited to ordering materials, coordinating locations, create maintain and analyze pass/fail data.
- Be the point-of-contact for Area Gas and provide comments and feedback on the Technical Skills Enhancement Plan for all roles.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with employees across all departments and varying levels of authority.
- Create and maintain a workflow for weekly stipends and track all stipend payments and process accordingly. Create a stipend dashboard.
Qualifications
Required Education/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree and 3 years full time related experience or
- Associate's Degree and 4 years full time related experience or
- High School Diploma/GED and 5 years full time related experience.
Relevant Work Experience
- Experience with various electronic systems used in Gas Operations such as ITS, Oracle, and e-train. Required
- Familiarity with regulatory codes and standards. Required
- Knowledge of Company procedures and policies. Required
- Knowledge of and experience with operator qualification requirements. Required
- Strong computer skills, including the Microsoft office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access) and database management systems. Required
- Ability to be well organized, detail oriented, flexible to handle multiple assignments and able to meet deadlines. Required
- Demonstrated experience scheduling, planning and coordinating meetings, events, and other team functions required. Strong oral and written communication skills. Required
- Informal leadership and interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with internal and external stakeholders. Required
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills and a demonstrated ability to confidently interact with all levels of employees. Required
- Operator Qualified in Gas Construction. Preferred
- Operator Qualified in GDS. Preferred
- Proficiency in a Learning Management System. Preferred
- General Knowledge of Sharepoint /Power App. Preferred

Additional Physical Demands
- The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
