(Start Rate $24.60 per hour)This role supports food safety, sanitation, and recycle efforts in the Topeka, KS facility. The position is responsible for maintaining clean, sanitary, and safe facilities by following the Food Safety Plan, Sanitation SOPs, and all applicable company policies and standards. Responsibilities include but are not limited to performing proper cleaning and recycling activities, maintaining sanitation chemical levels, handling and applying cleaning chemicals safely, following lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and safely operating powered industrial vehicles as required. This is a physically active role that involves frequent climbing, walking, bending, crawling, and driving for a large portion of the work shift to help ensure the facility remains compliant with food safety and environmental requirements. The role also requires the ability to apply sound reasoning, exercise good judgment, and demonstrate effective problem-solving skills in both routine and non-routine situations.
TITLE Production General Labor- Entry Level Food Safety & Chemical Sanitor REPORTS TO Food Safety Coordinator/ Senior Quality Specialist SUMMARY KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Follow all company Safety Rules, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), SSOPs, allergen controls, and hygiene requirements. (handwashing, PPE, tool control, non-class policy, etc.)
Participate in shift huddles, safety talks, and continuous improvement activities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High-school degree or equivalent is required. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, GMP's and general instructions. Good communication skills are required. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out both oral and written instructions.
