The salary range for this position takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

At WGU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their position, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

Job Description

The Clinical Placement Facilitator is a leading member of the Clinical & Field Experience Department that possesses an exceptional level of collaboration, knowledge and expertise along with a wide-ranging experience and skill set. As an individual contributor, the Facilitator is responsible for applying knowledge to contribute to the development of department practices as well as future products or technologies. The Facilitator generally works without supervision, collaborates with management in developing goals and objectives, and assists with the training and development of team members. Essential Responsibilities:
  • Determines where to place students based on previous interactions, partnerships, agreements, and proximity to students to ensure that student needs, timelines, and accreditation requirements are met.
  • Collaborates with students, WGU personnel, and outside professionals regarding placement, compliance, and/or outreach efforts.
  • Navigate highly complex clinical experience situations that require leadership, professional judgment, and discretion to determine what student needs prompt attention and respond accordingly.
  • Negotiates and resolve concerns that impact all stakeholders using effective conflict resolution skills, negotiation skills, professional communication, and urgency.
  • Facilitates product and/or process training efforts within their team or college to increase core and product knowledge.
  • Uses technology-based tools and communication platforms to aid students in their academic progress.
  • Serves as a dedicated liaison for students and internal and external stakeholders to increase efficiency and facilitate clear and consistent communication to serve the best interests of theorganization.
  • Properly document all interactions in detail including phone calls, emails, and meetings to ensure that all information is accounted for on student records in student relationship management system.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills required for interacting with clinical sites, school administration, preceptors, students, and WGU faculty members.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and shift priorities as needed to ensure that deliverables are completed within expected timeframes.
  • Lead innovative projects and facilitate committees that improve our processes and deliver better results.
  • Communicates with students and stakeholders to set clear expectations of the placement and onboarding process, compliance requirements, and affiliation agreements while providing updates throughout the process.
  • Understands placement guidelines/policies and is able to support students in adhering to the policies - as applicable.
  • Assists students with navigating the requirements needed to be cleared for placement - as applicable.
  • Communicates via email, meetings and phone calls; cold calling partners or other stakeholders may occasionally be necessary.
  • Exhibits professional conduct, interaction, and communication as a representative of the company and the department.
  • Work in a student relations management system.
  • Ability to do extensive research online of new sites both academic and health facilities - as applicable.
  • Assist other team members with account/placement concerns, troubleshooting, escalated issues, etc.
  • Assist with and/or lead team or departmental projects as needed.
  • Assist with ongoing team training and onboarding new team members.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications:
  • Requires a bachelor's degree.
  • Requires experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe products.
  • Requires four (4) or more years in an administrative role.
  • Requires three (3) or more years of experience working in Salesforce or equivalent software.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing.
  • Knowledge of clinical experience placements, contracts, and/or medical terminology.
  • Experience working in higher education.

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Working Conditions:
  • This is a Full-Time remote role, Monday through Friday during regular business hours.
This position requires occasional travel of up to 20%, including required attendance at designated company summits (typically one to two per year). Additional travel may include conferences, visits to company locations, and other business-related events as needed. Additional travel may be assigned as needed to support business requirements.

Position & Application Details
