Description

Hyson is seeking a Quality Technician to assist with activities related to quality assurance for the HYSON business. The Quality Technician plays a hands-on role on the manufacturing floor, ensuring products are built right the first time. This position partners closely with production teams to inspect components, monitor processes, and verify that quality standards are met at every stage of manufacturing. By using measurement tools, analyzing data, and supporting root cause investigations, the Quality Technician helps drive continuous improvement, reduce defects, and keep production running efficiently while delivering products customers can trust.

Core Responsibilities:



  • Audit/inspect incoming and outgoing material
  • Assists/trains employees on measurement tools and processes
  • Perform First Article and part qualification inspections
  • Work with warehouse operations to quarantine and disposition suspect inventory
  • Returned Goods disposition for internal and external quality related issues
  • Audits gauge calibration of devices associated with production
  • Select appropriate metrological methods for capability studies and ensure Gage MSA standards are met
  • Assist with generation of PPAP documentation and related requirements
  • Support and assist with AS9100D/ISO9001:2015/IATF16949:2016 audits
  • Perform QSM online document updates as needed
  • Interface with customers, suppliers and internal manufacturing on quality related tasks
  • Assist with posting Quality and Safety Alerts
  • All other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications:



  • 3+ years' Experience with standard metrology devices; micrometers, calipers, gage pins & blocks, and coordinate measuring machines
  • Proficiency in MS Excel
  • Basic understanding of statistical techniques as they apply to manufacturing processes
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Understanding of ISO9001:2015 Standards and Requirements
  • Basic Document Management and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required to interface with other departments, all levels of management, professional and support staff
  • Solid understanding of drawings and specifications to interpret inspection criteria
  • Strong PC aptitude in a Windows environment required; Ability to learn other software packages and maintain an awareness of technological advancements
  • Basic understanding of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), measurement system analysis (MSA), failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA), etc.
  • Must demonstrate an ability to work independently and be detail oriented
  • Ability to learn technical/mechanical aspects of products and processes quickly
  • Strong mathematical skills



Education Requirements and Preferences:



  • Associates degree in related discipline preferred
  • HS Diploma or equivalent
