Job Description:

Description

This position is for an engineering student interested in pursuing the career as an Audio Applications Engineer. The position offers opportunity to learn the state of the art audio devices and their applications in the consumer electronics.


Your role:


This role is expected to be in the field of Application Engineering. As an Intern you will work with a team validating new SoCs with embedded software, composed of analog and digital circuits, as well as validating systems utilizing new SoCs in audio and wireless applications.

Responsibilities

Testing the silicon for the intended applications in the lab.


Taking measurements using the Audio Precision Analyzer or similar test equipment's. Experience using test equipment such as oscilloscope, DMM, DC power supplies, etc.


Reporting the test data and compare to target technical specs for the datasheets.


Writing test documents, scripts and sometimes FW to automate as much testing as possible.


Writing and reviewing the datasheets and Application Notes.


You will work closely with SOC designers, Product engineers and other team members to define, develop and execute the Device tests. You will also work with cross functional teams in the lab to understand and debug technical issues of the device under test.

Required Experience and Skills

Must be enrolled as an engineering student.


Understand the basic knowledge of electrical circuits.


Ability to program in Python and/or LabVIEW)


Proficient in using MS office applications like Word, Excel, PowerPoint to create the test reports and technical documentation.


Professional, open, and highly self-motivated attitude and ability to communicate clearly.


Hands on lab experience of using Lab equipment's like Oscilloscopes, Power Supplies, DMM etc.

Desired Experience and Skills

Some background of Digital Audio.


Experience in the Schematic capture and understanding of multi-layer PCB's will be a plus.


Knowledge of switching power circuits or amplifiers will be a plus.


The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $26.00 - $47.50 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $22.50 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
