Description

Responsible for placing safety as #1 priority in day-to-day work routine for self and others. Performs Quality Control inspections to determine conformance with applicable standards; to include company policies/procedures, and federal and state regulations. The exact beginning and the end dates are negotiable within the timeframe of May 2026 through September 2026. This position is expected to work 40 hours per week, dependent on business needs. Once fully trained, the role will likely follow a four 1-hour shift schedule.







MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


  • Must be 18 years old.
  • High School degree or equivalency.
  • Ability to determine conformance to company standards via inspection and confidently communicate results to stakeholders.
  • To be eligible for internship status, enrollment in a bachelors or associates program leading to a four-year degree in a business, legal or engineering related discipline.


OTHER REQUIREMENTS


  • Must take all measures necessary to protect networks, devices, programs and data from cyber-attack, damage or unauthorized access.
  • Required to maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Must live in the assigned MDU Utilities Group region of inspection responsibility.
  • Participates in all field safety programs i.e., FR clothing, Safety Shoe.
  • Will be assigned a company vehicle with required extensive daily travel within the assigned region of responsibility.
  • Subject to pre-employment drug testing and background checks.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


  • Prior experience in utility operations or construction trades.
  • Experience with reviewing, inspecting or auditing to standards.
  • Experience with work management software and mobile inspection systems, or electronic systems in general.


JOB RESPONSIBILITES


  • Promotes quality and safety as the forefront of all activity.
  • Performs inspections of PE service and main construction projects.
  • Inspects construction crews consistent with company procedure.
  • Determines conformance to applicable standards.
  • Documents findings in inspection software on a tablet.
  • Initiates in person communication with contractors and internal staff on inspection results and quality findings.
  • Performs other tasks and special projects as assigned.



Offers Typically Range Between $17 - $20 per hour
