HOK, a global architecture, design, engineering, and planning firm, is seeking a Firmwide Design Technology Manager (DTM) to join our Corporate Advanced Technology Group.


This is a hybrid position and may be based in either our Los Angeles office (The Row DTLA, 757 S. Alameda St.) or our Seattle office (1200 5th Avenue), with on-site presence required three days per week.


As a Firmwide DTM, you'll responsible for shaping HOK's long-term vision for design technologies and ensuring project teams can deliver highquality work efficiently. You'll play a key role in developing and maintaining software standards and training, supporting regional Design Technology staff, performing quality reviews, and providing expertise to broader firm initiatives. The responsibilities of this position will vary over time with changes in technology and model-based processes, so staying up-to-date with emerging technologies is crucial.


Key Responsibilities Include:



  • Establish a long term vision and strategic goals for technologies and processes related to design and delivery of HOK projects and services.
  • Ensure maximized proficiency and productivity of implemented software.
  • Enable project teams to create design deliverables of the highest possible quality.
  • Strengthen HOK's reputation as a global leader in applied technology, quality, and process efficiency.


The essential responsibilities to achieve the goals listed above include, but are not limited to, the following:



  • Develop and maintain standards and procedural guidelines for design software applications.
  • Develop training material for design software applications.
  • Perform occasional QC audits of regional projects.
  • Provide technology and process expertise to other firm-wide initiatives such as marketing and business development.
  • Maintain knowledge of current and future design technologies.
  • Acts as mentor by coaching and motivating; fostering an environment of mutual respect and trust among members of the Design Technology group as it grows and develops.
  • May assist regional Design Technology staff and project teams by addressing technical issues and performing training and work sessions.
  • Manage special projects as needed.
  • Participates in local or state professional associations, maintains active membership, and attends events related to building information technology. Public speaking may be required.
  • Takes personal responsibility for fostering a green workplace through sustainable work practices.

Above all, they are collaborative, adaptable, and committed to maintaining HOK's high standards for quality, innovation, and sustainable practice.


What is the required education & experience?
A bachelor's degree in architecture, interior design, engineering, information technology, or a related field is required, along with at least ten years of experience supporting and managing BIM technologies. Experience in strategic, executive-level collaboration and project management, and hold a LEED accreditation or Green Associate credential (or able to obtain within six months of hire). Demonstrating a blend of technical expertise, industry knowledge, and leadership capability is expected.

Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, education and location. The reasonably expected salary range for this position in both Los Angeles and Seattle is $115,000 - $135,000 . Other compensation may include a discretionary bonus.
