DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will provide vital assistance to the chief pharmacist by receiving, preparing, filling, and documenting prescriptions for the residents at the Pennsylvania Soldiers' and Sailors' Home. You will be responsible for controlling the pharmacy inventory according to reorder levels, preparing purchase requests for pharmaceuticals, and receiving and stocking orders. You will also be tasked with maintaining files and records of requisitions and purchases. Within this role, it is essential to maintain a clean and sanitary work area while also providing excellent service to the individuals receiving care. Interested in learning more? - Full-time employment, 37.5 hours/week
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience assisting a licensed pharmacist in the preparation and dispensing of medications in a hospital pharmacy; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Pharmacy Technician license
- Active engagement in the practice of a Pharmacy Technician for at least one year between January 29, 2019 and January 29, 2021
- Completion of a Board Approved Pharmacy Technician training program
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
