Summary Job Description: PRN - 1st Shift Registered Nurse (RN) - Behavioral Health The Behavioral Health Unit (BHU) is a secured, therapeutic inpatient setting that provides short-term, intensive psychiatric care to patients experiencing acute mental health crises. The unit is staffed by a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses, social workers, therapists, and behavioral health technicians, who collaborate to develop individualized treatment plans. Job Description: Behavioral health nurses are multifaceted. Nurses implement treatment plans and ensure patient care. They show a broad range of nursing skills, as well as practical knowledge of communication, emotional intelligence, and a healthy dose of compassion. Registered Nurse implements professional nursing practice centered on the patient as a whole person and the creation of a caring environment focused on healing and wellness. This individual honors patient's mind, body, and spirit by respecting human dignity and the uniqueness of everyone. Clinical decision-making incorporates all four phases of the nursing process, critical thinking, and creativity.
