SUMMARY:

The Counselor provides documented individual and group clinical services and case management to clients with mental health, substance abuse, or dual diagnosis problems.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Provides quality clinical services and case management to assigned clients in accordance with Spectrum's clinical design and in compliance with all licensing, accreditation, and regulatory bodies.
  • Provides group treatment to clients using Spectrum curriculum and following group facilitation protocol as trained.
  • Performs intake assessments and completes all associated documentation within required time frames.
  • Demonstrates respect for supervisors, co-workers, and clients.
  • Consistently arrives for work on time and adheres to the program's attendance policies.
  • Strictly adheres to HIPAA and confidentiality policies when responding to inquiries for client information.
  • Demonstrates honesty and integrity at all times in the care of the clients and the use of the facility property.
  • Completes all required documentation for services as required by Spectrum and all licensing, accreditation, and regulatory bodies within established time frames.
  • Develops, implements, and revises individual treatment plans for assigned clients in established time frames with the participation of the client.
  • Completes all outcome measurement tools as required by Spectrum, licensing, and payers in required time frames.
  • Refers clients to appropriate services in the community as necessary.
  • Demonstrates a satisfactory level of interpersonal skills to interact with clients, staff, families, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Attends regularly scheduled individual/group supervision and participates in regular staff and team meetings.
  • Participates in multidisciplinary team treatment planning, case review and case conferences.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of services and programs within Spectrum's continuum of care and knows where to access additional information on Spectrum services and programs.
  • Refers clients to services using Spectrum's continuum of care and demonstrates efforts to maximize the internal referrals within Spectrum's continuum when appropriate.
  • Maintains comprehensive current clinical skills, competencies, licensure, and certification as required.


Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:



  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree required.
  • LADC I or CADAC certification preferred.
  • Minimum of one-year supervised counseling experience in the substance abuse treatment or closely related field required.
  • Must have basic ability in use of computers sufficient to utilize electronic health records.
