Head Equipment Technician Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY The Equipment Manager oversees a comprehensive preventative maintenance program according to Mountain Lake’s goals, policies and procedures. This position includes the repair of failing equipment, keeping records of parts and labor needed to maintain each piece of equipment, and placing orders for parts and supplies needed for equipment service. The Equipment Manager properly communicates any needs or problems relating to the maintenance or repair of equipment to his reports, and schedules and directs the work assignments of the Assistant Mechanic. The Equipment Manager places safety as top priority and is responsible maintaining a clean service area and maintenance building. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES •
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent. • Must have extensive knowledge of small engine, diesel, hydraulics and budgeting. • Minimum of one (1) or more years in golf course maintenance and country club experience. • Possession of a valid driver's license; commercial driver license preferred. • Private Club experience preferred. • Knowledgeable and able to perform 5-star service. MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE • Equipment Manager will be evaluated and tested at various times throughout the season based upon their knowledge, basic skills, team attitude and Member recognition. • Equipment Manager will be given a 90-day review and an annual review (once a year). • Equipment Manager will be reviewed based on job performance, attendance, dependability, cooperation with co-workers, initiative on the job, and the quality and quantity of their work. WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. • Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. • Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. • Exposure to the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. • Exposure to various types of Florida weather conditions including: sunshine, heat, and rain. • Must encompass basic coping skills for stressful situations that may arise.
