Requisition Id15718 Overview: The Stable Isotopes Production Facility (SIPF) Demonstration Group within the Enrichment Science and Engineering Division (ESED) is seeking Enrichment Production Technicians. This group is focused on the demonstration and operation of new gas centrifuge technology associated with the enrichment of stable isotopes. The ESED serves the nation in two critical areas: advancing enrichment technologies and exploring enriched stable isotope production and applications. The division leverages an elite staff of scientists, engineers, technical professionals, and technicians with the world-leading capabilities of Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) to deliver groundbreaking advancements with a variety of applications, from national security to life-saving medical treatments. This position reports to the SIPF Demonstration Group Leader. Major Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform work in a safe and secure manner consistent with expectations and in compliance with ORNL policies, standards, and procedures.
- Complete assigned training, certification, and qualifications within established timeframes.
- Develop and review of documentation (e.g. procedures, instructions, reports, etc.), training, and qualifications.
- Commissioning, start-up, testing, maintenance, and operation of complex systems used for the enrichment of stable isotopes, including trend analysis and response to abnormal equipment conditions.
- Maintain records of facility operations (e.g. narrative logs, rounds, test data, etc.).
- Participate in research and development activities associated with isotope enrichment.
- SIPF will be a 24/7 facility. Shift work, flexible hours, and overtime are required.

Basic Qualifications:
- AS degree in science or technical related disciplines and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. An equivalent combination of education and applicable experience will be considered.
- Ability to hold and maintain a DOE Q security clearance is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active DOE Q clearance
- Experience related to programs or research involving isotope enrichment technologies.
- Experience with DOE safety, security, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience with conduct of operations or equivalent programs (e.g. DOE O 422.1, NRC licensed facilities, Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program, etc.).
- Experience with hazardous reactive gas systems, cryogenic systems/components, vacuum systems/components, HMI/PLC controlled systems/components, instrumentation, and associated mechanical and inspection equipment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Physical Requirements: Work involves various physical requirements and working conditions. As such, a pre-hire physical will be required after offer. Export control: This position requires access to technology that is subject to export control requirements. Successful candidates must be qualified for such access without an export control license. Q clearance: This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance from the Department of Energy. As such, this position is a Workplace Substance Abuse (WSAP) testing designated position. WSAP positions require passing a pre-placement drug test and participation in an ongoing random drug testing program.
