Position Description:

The Department of Urology at the University of Iowa seeks to recruit a urologist specializing in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. Appointment rank may be at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level and to the tenure track, research track or clinical (non-tenure) track consistent with clinical experience and research interest. Appointment at the rank of Instructor (non-track) may also be considered.

Flocks Urology Clinic at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics delivers unparalleled expertise in areas that include minimally invasive robotics, advanced reconstructive surgery, and diagnosis and treatment of urologic cancers, and it is home to the only team of board-certified pediatric urologists in Iowa.

The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics is a state-of-the-art 700 bed tertiary care center located in the beautiful community of Iowa City, Iowa. Successful candidates will be required to self-disclose any misconduct history or pending research misconduct investigation including but not limited to sexual misconduct in prior employment and provide a related release and will be subject to a criminal background and credential check.



Education Requirement:


  • MD/DO or equivalent degree


Required Qualifications:


  • Completion of an accredited urology residency program
  • Tenure track candidates must demonstrate research experience with evidence of scholarly productivity at the University level


Certifications:


  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Urology
  • License or eligibility for medical licensure in the State of Iowa


Desirable Qualifications:


  • Prior teaching experience is desired
  • Fellowship training in a preferred sub-specialty is desired
