Job Summary and Responsibilities

Acentra Health is looking for a Test Automation Engineer, Mid to join our growing team.

Job Summary:

The Test Automation Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated tests to ensure product quality and efficiency across software systems. This role builds and maintains automation frameworks, executes automated regression and integration suites, and collaborates closely with developers, analysts, and manual testers to ensure high-quality software delivery. The position contributes to continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) processes and helps advance Acentra Health's automation strategy to improve testing speed, accuracy, and coverage.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance test automation frameworks, scripts, and tools for UI, API, and backend systems.
  • Translate manual test cases and requirements into automated test scripts aligned with project goals and test strategy.
  • Execute automated regression, smoke, and integration test suites as part of CI/CD pipelines.
  • Collaborate with development and QA teams to identify automation opportunities and optimize test coverage.
  • Maintain version control and documentation for all automation assets.
  • Participate in test case design reviews to ensure testability and automation feasibility.
  • Investigate test failures, perform root cause analysis, and report defects through established defect management processes.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of the Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM).
  • Monitor and report automation execution results, providing metrics and insights to QA leadership.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by evaluating and implementing new automation tools and practices.
  • Ensure adherence to automation standards, frameworks, and coding best practices.
  • Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to integrate automated testing into build and deployment pipelines.
  • Read, understand, and adhere to all corporate policies including policies related to HIPAA and its Privacy and Security Rules.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field, or 6 years of additional experience in lieu of degree
  • 4+ years of experience in software quality assurance with a focus on test automation
  • Hands-on experience with one or more automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, UFT, Tosca, or Playwright.
  • Strong knowledge of automation frameworks (keyword-driven, data-driven, hybrid, or BDD)
  • Working knowledge of version control tools such as Git and CI/CD systems such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI
  • Proficiency in scripting or programming languages (Java and Python)
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and defect lifecycle management
  • Experience using test management and defect tracking tools (Jira, Zephyr, or TM4J)
  • Solid understanding of relational databases and ability to create and execute SQL queries

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Medicaid, Medicare, or healthcare systems testing preferred
  • Knowledge of API testing tools (Postman, RestAssured, or ReadyAPI)
  • Familiarity with performance and load testing concepts
  • Knowledge of AI concepts and their application in software testing, including effective use of GitHub Copilot or similar AI-assisted tools within Visual Studio
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating with distributed teams
