We are currently seeking a full-time Health & Safety Specialist for our Knoxville, TN office. This is an excellent opportunity to join and grow EnSafe, getting involved in a variety of projects for a diverse range of clients across the globe.

As a Health & Safety Specialist you will work on a wide range of projects in an environment that fosters creativity, collaboration at all levels, a culture of support, and professional growth. EnSafe emphasizes empowering staff to practice our profession passionately and without limitations.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
In this position, you will:

  • Conduct safety audits, hazard/risk assessments, and incident investigations; develop corrective actions and track effectiveness.
  • Deliver health & safety training (e.g., newhire orientation, machine guarding, lockout/tagout, confined space, fall protection, PPE, and hazardous waste awareness).
  • Develop Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and work with site leaders to embed controls into procedures and practices.
  • Analyze safety data; generate dashboards and reports for leadership with clear recommendations.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with federal, state, and local requirements (including applicable OSHA standards).
  • Coach field and operations teams, building rapport and credibility to strengthen safety culture.
  • Collaborate with EHS, engineering, and project managers to align site practices with corporate programs and client expectations.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Minimum Skills and Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in H&S (industrial, construction, utilities, manufacturing, or consulting). Experience conducting audits, delivering training, writing reports, and authoring JHAs.
  • Regulatory knowledge: Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and relevant state/local requirements.
  • Data analysis and reporting, persuasive communication, ability to influence at all levels, and comfort working in field environments.
  • Willingness to travel regionally to client sites as needed.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with 29 CFR 1910.269.

Professional Certifications: CSP, ASP, OHST, CHST, CIH, CUSP, or OSHA 30 (General Industry/Construction).
