Job Description




As a Security Officer - School Patrol Driver in Minneapolis, MN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal at an education location, you will conduct regular patrols and remain highly visible to help deter security-related incidents while providing exceptional customer service to students, staff, and visitors. This is a driving position, where you will utilize your attention to detail and communication skills to create a welcoming environment and support a culture built on teamwork, reliability, and integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies at the location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the campus buildings and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and promote a secure environment.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and other designated areas to observe and report any unusual or suspicious activity.
  • Assist with access control by verifying credentials and/or authorizations as required by site policies.
  • Document and report security-related incidents, hazards, and/or maintenance issues observed during patrols.
  • Support emergency response activities as directed, including assisting with evacuations and/or providing information to first responders.
  • Maintain a visible presence throughout the assigned areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and provide reassurance to the campus community.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • At least one year of security-related experience is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
