Job Summary

The Financial Aid Assistant supports the Director of Financial Aid in administering, implementing, and evaluating student financial aid programs for the Schools of Nursing and Medical Imaging. This role serves as a knowledgeable resource for students and families, prepares financial aid information and application materials, and assists in maintaining scholarship records. The position collaborates closely with admissions, registration, fiscal services, and school administration to ensure accurate and timely communication. The Financial Aid Assistant also supports student services activities and participates in administrative meetings as needed. Other duties may be assigned to support program operations.

Job Responsibilities




  • Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of student financial aid processes.



  • Serve as a resource for students by providing accurate financial aid information and guidance.



  • Prepare and distribute financial aid information and application packets.



  • Maintain scholarship files and assist with tracking and awarding scholarship funds.



  • Stay informed on regulations, updates, and changes related to financial aid programs.



  • Collaborate with admissions, registration, fiscal services, and school administration to support efficient financial aid operations.



  • Communicate effectively with students, families, visitors, and staff.



  • Support student services activities such as orientation, graduation, and related events.



  • Participate in administrative staff meetings.



  • Complete additional projects or duties as assigned.




Job Requirements




  • Proficiency with MS Word and Excel.



  • Basic experience with student information or financial aid systems.



  • Strong data entry skills and attention to detail.



  • General knowledge of educational programs or academic department operations.



  • Ability to assist students with completing financial aid applications, including federal and state grants.



  • Ability to process student loans and reconcile financial aid packages.



  • Strong communication and organizational skills.



  • Ability to work onsite during scheduled hours, with occasional evening availability.




Education




  • High school diploma required; associate degree or higher preferred. (Please review and adjust based on accurate role requirements.)




Work Experience




  • Prior office experience preferred, particularly in a financial aid or education-related setting. (Please review and adjust based on accurate role requirements.)




Additional Job Details (COVID, Commute, Attendance, etc.)




  • Onsite schedule: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, five days per week.



  • Occasional late evenings may be required.
