Global Power Components is a privately held, growing manufacturer of UL steel fuel tanks, trailers, large generator enclosures and modular metal enclosures for housing fully equipped electrical distribution and control equipment.

As a result of continued growth, we are looking for a motivated Quality Engineer to join our growing team.

Please note this position is 100% onsite.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-orientedQuality Engineerto drive continuous improvement initiatives and ensure product and process quality in our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality systems, root cause analysis, and lean manufacturing principles, with a passion for solving problems and improving performance.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supportQuality improvement projectsacross manufacturing processes to reduce internal defects, supplier defects, customer quality escapes, and enhance customer satisfaction.


  • Conductroot cause analysisand implementcorrective and preventive actions (CAPA)for internal and external quality issues.


  • Develop and maintainquality documentation, including control plans, inspection instructions, and standard operating procedures.


  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Production, Engineering, Supply Chain) to ensure quality standards are met throughout the product lifecycle.


  • Performdata analysison quality metrics and present findings to management with actionable recommendations.


  • Supportinternal and external audits, including ISO 9001 or other relevant standards as needed


  • Monitor and improvesupplier quality performancethrough audits and corrective actions as needed


  • Train and mentor production staff on quality standards, tools and best practices.


  • Travel between 3 sites within a commuting distance of 5 miles.




Qualifications:

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in engineering, Quality, or a related field.


  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing quality improvement role.


  • Strong knowledge ofquality toolssuch as APQP, FMEA, CTQ, SPC, 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone Analysis, Pareto, and control charts.


  • Experience withISO 9001,Lean Manufacturing, andSix Sigmamethodologies is a plus.


  • Experience in Sheet Metal Fabrication, Welding, Paint and Electrical/Mechanical Assembly processes is a plus.


  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (MS Excel, Minitab, or similar); Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Epicor) and SharePoint is a plus.


  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.


  • Certification (CQE, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt) is a plus.


  • Fluent in English, additional languages like Spanish an advantage
