Department: Cardiac Holding

Schedule: 24 hours per week, must be able to work 8 and 12 hour shifts with varied start times

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for assisting with preparing and recovering patients undergoing procedures, including but not limited to performing EKGs, blood glucose tests, shaving patients' groin and chest for procedures, assist with pushing, pulling and lifting patients and placing stickers.
  • Aids with movement and placement of patients.
  • Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living.
  • Reports findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff. Documents necessary records.
  • Keeps patient rooms clean, orderly, and maintains medical equipment.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

    CERTIFICATION/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Nurse Aide credentialed from the Michigan Nurse Aide Registry preferred. Any issuing authority accepted.
