This position will sit on-site at our Reading, PA office.

Purpose
The Senior Project Engineer manages and coordinates multidiscipline engineering activities to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, cost-effectively, and on schedule. This role serves as the primary technical interface with the client, ensuring all project requirements align with the approved Basis of Design, applicable codes, and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

  • Maintain a strong HSE focus within the team to ensure safety requirements are integrated into all design and procurement activities.

Client Relationships

  • Establish and maintain positive, professional relationships with clients.

  • Proactively identify and resolve performance, scope, or schedule issues as they arise.

  • Communicate clearly to ensure client expectations and requirements are understood and met.

Commercial Management

  • Manage assigned budgets within the overall project scope.

  • Support accurate forecasting and effective cost control throughout project execution.

Scope & Change Management

  • Ensure compliance with the Worley Project Management Process (WPMP), the Project Execution Plan, and all contractual obligations.

  • Apply effective change management processes to control scope variations.

Time & Cost Management

  • Support development of the overall project schedule and monitor progress against key milestones.

  • Track cost performance, identify trends, and take corrective action to prevent overruns.

Quality Management

  • Ensure project activities comply with Worley's quality standards, procedures, and policies.

  • Utilize established engineering and procurement systems to maintain high-quality deliverables.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and coordinate a multidiscipline engineering team to achieve project objectives.

  • Facilitate open communication, resolve issues, and remove barriers to ensure timely delivery.

Communication & Reporting

  • Provide accurate and timely project reporting to management and stakeholders.

  • Maintain effective communication across the design team and with third parties.

Risk Management

  • Identify, assess, and monitor project risks and opportunities, ensuring timely closure of all actions.

Design Management

  • Set clear objectives for the design team, focusing on productivity, quality, and budget targets.

  • Ensure design deliverables comply with the client's Basis of Design, regulatory standards, and applicable codes.

  • Manage interfaces between engineering disciplines to maintain alignment and integration.

Procurement & Subcontract Management

  • Support procurement activities to ensure materials and services meet technical specifications, are delivered on time, and remain within budget.

Technical and Industry Experience

  • Extensive technical and practical experience in project engineering, ideally across multidiscipline projects.

  • Proven leadership in managing engineering execution, project schedules, budgets, and client interfaces.

  • Strong commercial and contractual awareness.

Education, Qualifications & Training
Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent.

Preferred:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Pennsylvania or the ability to get.

  • Eligible for Certified Practising Project Practitioner (CPPP) or equivalent professional certification.
