SUMMARY

The Food as Medicine Volunteer Coordinator is a supportive role to assist in the recruitment, management and retention of volunteers for the different components of the Food as Medicine program including Fresh Food Carts at Grady satellite clinics as well as in Jesse Hill Market.

Provides excellent customer service to all being served in the FAM Program. Work to source and recruit volunteers through various techniques (including databases, email, social media etc.). Develop and maintain positive relationships with key personnel, local companies and organizations to assist in the recruitment process. Ensure all sites have appropriate equipment and supplies for each event as needed.

Engage volunteers onsite to provide an orientation to set expectations and goals of the event to further enhance the volunteer experience and ensure satisfaction. Manage schedules to ensure there are sufficient volunteers for all events. Oversee delivery of product from vendors to ensure quality, timeliness and meet budgetary requirements.

Disseminate information for upcoming actions and events. Keep detailed records of volunteers' information and assignments. Communicate with leader to inform of any schedule changes or needs that should be addressed. Be able to provide stakeholders with data updates on events (i.e., lbs. of food distributed, number of volunteers utilized etc.). Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's in business administration, human resources, social studies, nutrition or relevant field.
  • Experience in operations, volunteering and recruitment preferred.
  • Microsoft Office Proficiency
