Primary Purpose of Department
The Office of OneIT provides highly reliable information technology infrastructure, tools and services to empower the University to achieve its academic, research, administrative and service goals.
Primary Purpose of Position
The Manager of Salesforce Development leads, manages, and provides hands-on technical guidance to the CRM development team. This role is responsible for ensuring the successful design, implementation, and maintenance of Salesforce in delivering scalable, student-centered Salesforce solutions across campus. Reporting to the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Enterprise Applications, this position is a working leader who actively contributes to development tasks and project completion alongside the team, and works closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure Salesforce is optimized for long-term sustainability and campus-wide impact.
Summary of Position Responsibilities
Team Management & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the CRM development team, including recruitment and performance reviews
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture
  • Identify and support training opportunities to deepen Salesforce expertise
  • Engage campus stakeholders to align Salesforce capabilities with institutional needs


Technical Leadership & Development

  • Provide hands-on technical guidance and contribute directly to development tasks
  • Serve as senior developer or technical lead on major initiatives
  • Ensure platform architecture supports scalability and flexibility
  • Maintain deep expertise in Service Cloud, Agentforce, Ascend, and Education Cloud

Project Management & Implementation

  • Oversee planning and execution of Salesforce projects, ensuring timely delivery and stakeholder satisfaction
  • Apply project management best practices to complex implementations and integrations
  • Champion data integrity, governance, and strategic use of Salesforce data for analytics

Collaboration & Change Management

  • Communicate regularly with the AVC for Enterprise Applications on platform status and needs
  • Coordinate with functional leaders, vendors, and enterprise systems teams for seamless integration
  • Develop and execute change management strategies to drive adoption and user engagement
  • Provide training and support for new features and processes

Minimum Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of hands-on experience with increasing levels of responsibility working with the Salesforce platform; or an
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience managing and mentoring technical teams.

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Proven success in leading complex Salesforce implementations.
  • Expertise in Service Cloud and Education Cloud.
  • Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, M.Ed., MSIS, Ed.D., Ph.D.).
  • Familiarity with Experience Cloud, Agentforce, Data Cloud, Ascend, Marketing Cloud, Mulesoft, and Banner.
  • Experience in higher education, especially R1 institutions.
