Location: Mt. Sterling, IL or any US Dot Location
Department: Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA)
Reports To: FSQA Compliance Manager
Salary Range: $62,113 - $93,169 annually, plus bonus opportunity

As the FSQA - Import Manager, you will be responsible for the food safety and quality assurance of Savor Imports, a specialty food importer powered by Dot Foods. You'll work with vendors and supply chain partners to ensure products meet our expectations and that vendors are compliant with all food safety regulations, foreign and domestic.

WHAT YOU'LL DO



  • Collaborate with Savor Imports' buyers to establish and maintain product and packaging specifications
  • Conduct product testing and the auditing of suppliers' facilities and processes
  • Ensure Savor Imports compliance to FDA Foreign Supplier Verification Program and others applicable FDA/USDA regulations
  • Act as FSQA person of contact for all supplier and customer inquiries, including the investigation and resolution of relevant customer complaints
  • Monitor, process, and analyze data for continuous improvement and to minimize food safety risks
  • Apply lean thinking and tools to identify and eliminate waste in all areas of the position


YOU MUST HAVE



  • Bachelor's degree in food science, related degree, or equivalent Dot experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment


YOU MAY ALSO HAVE



  • 3+ years' experience in food manufacturing and/or quality
  • Knowledge of GFSI, FDA, and USDA standards and requirements
  • Ability to develop and work within budgets
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence persons at all organizational levels
  • Proven ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines


ROLE SPECIFICS



  • Travel - Overnight domestic travel (4-6 nights per month) and possible international travel (1-2 times per year) to other companies' facilities, outside training, and internal/external business meetings. Must have ability to travel independently as needed, without restriction by all modes of transportation, including car, plane, or train.
