Specialist, Material Planning


The Material Planning Specialist, reporting to the Senior Manager - Material Planning, plays a critical role in ensuring the availability of materials to support engine maintenance programs. This position is responsible for driving material readiness, cost efficiency, and schedule alignment across assigned engine platforms. Working closely with cross-functional teams including repair, procurement, and operations. The specialist helps optimize engine throughput and meet customer delivery commitments.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Develop and manage material plans to align with engine maintenance schedules and program requirements
  • Partner with Procurement and Product Line Managers on OEM, third-party, and consigned materials in accordance with demand forecasts and contractual obligations
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and cost-effective sourcing
  • Maintain accurate planning data within ERP systems and ensure integrity of material master records
  • Collaborate with logistics and warehouse teams to support efficient material flow and inventory control
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of long-term planning strategies


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Business, or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in material planning or inventory management in aviation
  • Strong knowledge of OEM, third-party, and consigned inventory practices
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and planning tools
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience supporting aviation engine maintenance or MRO operations
  • Certification in supply chain or logistics (e.g., APICS, CPIM, CSCP)
  • Familiarity with international sourcing and logistics
  • Knowledge of lean inventory and continuous improvement practices
