        Reporting to the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Education in the School of Economic, Political and Policy Sciences( 
        EPPS), the Director serves as the head advisor for the school. The Director provides leadership and oversight to professional academic advising staff, develops and implements advising policies and programs, ensures that students have a clear understanding of degree requirements, and offers guidance on course selection and career planning.
         
         The Director is also responsible for enhancing student retention and graduation rates through the analysis of data trends and the implementation of evidence-based initiatives.  |

        Bachelor's degree in counseling or a related field and 8 years experience working with college students in an academic counseling or advising capacity; or Master's degree & six years' experience as described above.  |

        - Experience in academic advising, student services, and student engagement.
 - Demonstrated excellence in leadership, supervision, planning, problem-solving, organization, and project management.

 - Proficiency in Microsoft Office, PeopleSoft, and other relevant computer applications.

        - Lead a team of 2-3 professional academic advisors.
 - Oversee the daily operations and services of the advising office.
 - Serve on the Undergraduate Advising Directors Committee.
 - Serve on hiring committees for advising positions as needed.
 - Hire, supervise, train, mentor, schedule, and monitor the caseloads of advising staff.
 - Monitor advising staff performance and conduct performance reviews.
 - Maintain up-to-date knowledge of and support university policies, academic requirements, and campus resources.
 - Maintain knowledge of and support EPPS undergraduate degree programs.
 - Collaborate effectively with campus offices, administrators, faculty, and staff to provide training for advising personnel.
 - Advise new, transfer, and current students.
 - Advise students seeking admission or readmission to UTD.
 - Create and deliver presentations for faculty, staff, students, and parents, including Freshman and Transfer Orientation sessions, Preview Fridays, and other recruitment events.
 - Establish strategic goals and develop implementation plans to achieve results.
 - Analyze data and determine necessary changes to improve services and outcomes.
 - Analyze, evaluate, and distribute advising-related reports.
 - Attend recruitment events as needed.
 - Perform other duties as assigned.
