The impact you'll make
As the Director of Supplier Quality Engineering on the Global Operations Quality & Safety, you will be responsible for:
  • Leading teams that prioritize and resolve supplier quality issues impacting customer fabs (FQM team) and Lam Manufacturing (Factory Support team).
  • Implementing quality best-known methods within SET & suppliers.
  • Establishing and strengthening the quality culture within SET & suppliers; adjusting the culture from the current focus on reactive fire-fighting to more problem prevention.
  • Driving common standards and metrics for supplier quality.
  • Elevating supplier quality through partnerships with stakeholders within GOps (e.g., Manufacturing, Logistics, GSCM) as well as outside of GOps (e.g., Global Quality, Regional Field Teams, Lam Product Groups).
What you'll do
  • Develop a 5-year strategic plan for the Supplier Quality organization.
  • Establish and refine Supplier Quality policies and procedures.
  • Strengthen problem-solving (RCCA 8D/5 Why) within SET, suppliers, and GOps.
  • Review supplier manufacturing and QMS, diagnose weaknesses, and suggest improvements.
  • Champion proactive quality - PFMEA, SPC, capability studies, mistake-proofing, RPA (recurrence prevention alerts).
  • Quality Engineering methods/Lean Six Sigma coaching.
  • Role model Lam Core values.
Who we're looking for
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial, with 15 years of experience or equivalent years of experience in a similar role. An advanced degree is preferred.
  • Experience working with the supply chain in the semiconductor industry is beneficial.
  • Proven experience leading a team (direct & matrix) of established engineers in a complex engineering/technology environment.
  • Demonstrated experience applying advanced quality methods to improve quality and reduce variability within a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to communicate and influence effectively.
  • The ability to collaborate on cross-functional teams.
  • Curious mindset, passion for quality ideas, and the ability to drive innovative change.
  • Adept at creating and delivering effective presentations to executive staff on quality topics and/or escalations.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories - On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. 'On-site Flex' you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. 'Virtual Flex' you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.

Salary

CA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: Min $163,000 - Max $339,000.

The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
