Description

Trident Seafoods is the largest vertically integrated seafood harvesting and processing company in North America. Summary:The Accounts Receivable Specialist - Deductions & Promotions is responsible for the processing of customer AR debits and residuals. Processing responsibilities will include activities related to Documenting, Delegating, Researching, and Disbursement to resolve disputes accurately and timely. To accomplish these responsibilities the AR Specialist may have to research invoice short payments, overpayments, customer disputes, promotional claims, perform account reconciliation, application of credit notes, and file collection disputes to recover invalid debits.

  • Collect, document, archive, and retrieve information related to residual payments.
  • Delegate disputes based on customer remittance and documentation.
  • Create and manage requests to customers through email, phone, brokers, or website portals.
  • Resolve disputes through reconciliation, application of funds or credit notes, or filing collection disputes.
  • Manage these processes through the efficient and accurate processing of a large volume of activities for a variety of customers.
  • Must be able to follow instructions, work independently and efficiently, and possess critical thinking skills.
  • Perform these functions using an ERP, Microsoft Office, Customer website portals, and other technologies.
  • Manage a large volume of documents and communications from many unique customers and departments.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to interpret customer furnished documents that may require the ability to interpret and properly research and delegate with limited oversight.
  • Ability to adjust processes to adapt to verbal feedback regarding customer documents and internal organizational processes.
  • Comfortability using multiple variables to make decisions promptly, accurately and efficiently to recover collection disputes.
  • Willingnessand interest in learning new technologies and adapting to evolving processes and customer behaviors.
  • Work in a small team environment and collaborate within the group where broader interdepartmental interactions are required daily.
  • Be customer-facing with the ability to efficiently communicate professionally with strong "customer service" soft skills.

This is a non-exempt position with a hourly pay rate range of $25 to $32 per hour.

Minimum Requirements

Required Qualifications (education, years of experience, Knowledge/Skills/Abilities)

  • A combination of 4 years of accounting/business experience or equivalent education required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, functions, and pivot tables.

Preferred education and experience

  • College level courses in accounting and/or business.
  • Experience in Collections, Accounts Receivable, or Bookkeeping.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, Power Query, or Power Automate highly preferred.
  • ERP / SAP experience.

Work Environment

This is an on-site position based at the Trident Support Center office in Seattle's Ballard neighborhood, with the option to work remotely on Fridays.

In-office time takes place in a typical office environment: temperature controlled with adequate lighting and moderate noise. While remote, employees must provide appropriate home office space.

Physical/Mental demands:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time at a desk. Frequently required to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee will occasionally stand, walk, and may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include near vision for frequent use of a computer.
