Job Summary

The Retail Senior Buyer collaborates with leadership to develop and manage the endtoend merchandise buying lifecycle for the Westfield retail program and is accountable for topline, margin, and inventory health outcomes. The role operates with limited oversight to build the seasonal strategy and opentobuy (OTB) plan, designs the assortment, negotiates vendor terms, and governs execution against financial guardrails and internal controls. The role leverages customer insights and sales analytics to deliver premium, brandright assortments that enhance the member experience and support company objectives.

Job Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with leadership, develops and manages annual and seasonal merchandise budgets and plans, including sales, margin, turn, markdown and inventory.
  • Plans seasonal buying cycles and manages open-to-buy (OTB) strategies. Monitors financial performance and adjusts strategies to meet revenue and profitability targets.
  • Curates brand-right assortments across apparel, equipment, accessories, and gifts that reflect Westfield standards and customer expectations. Maintains a balanced merchandise mix with a focus on premium and exclusive offerings.
  • Manages vendor selection, onboarding and performance management to ensure product quality and customer service standards are met. Negotiates pricing, discounts, terms, freight and delivery schedules to maximize value.
  • Oversees accounting procedures related to merchandise operations, including invoicing, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Ensures purchase order accuracy, tracks receipts, adjusts inventory, and resolves variances.
  • Maintains auditable records and adheres to internal financial controls and Company policies. Prepares for annual inventory audit and remediates findings.
  • Collaborates with Club and other Hospitality leadership to align retail goals with broader operational objectives.
  • Coordinates with Golf Operations on seasonal calendars, launches and visual standards.
  • Focuses on continuous improvement by standardizing operating procedures related to buying, receiving, markdowns and reporting.
  • Coaches retail and merchandise staff on products, cross selling techniques and visual standards.

Job Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in retail buying, preferably in a golf or luxury retail environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, merchandising/retail management, supply chain/operations, finance or a related field and/or commensurate work experience.
  • PGA and/or AGM certification preferred.
