Title: Shift Supervisor Location: Freeport, TX
  Salary: $99,000 - $150,000 Schedule: 12-hour rotating shift schedule (days/nights), including weekends and holidays Relocation Available Focus: Responsible for the safe and efficient operations of the chemical manufacturing unit through applying operational discipline. This role ensures that all production, environmental, safety, and quality standards are upheld while driving performance and accountability on shift, ensuring active engagement/ownership and supporting shift employees to meet plant objectives. The Freeport site is the single largest chlor alkali complex in the world with more than 1,000 employees. The chemical products produced at our Freeport location include chlorine and caustic soda, vinyls, epoxies, chlorinated organics, aromatics, bleach, hydrogen, and hydrochloric acid.
  Essential Responsibilities: 
  
   - Direct and supervise hourly operators and support staff during assigned shifts to ensure safe and efficient plant operations.
 - Enforce safety rules, incident reporting, lockout/tagout, and environmental compliance policies. Conduct safety toolbox talks and ensure completion of JSAs and permits.
 - Monitor production processes, troubleshoot operational issues, and escalate equipment malfunctions or deviations as needed.
 - Assign work, approve time, and maintain proper staffing levels. Provide coaching, guidance, and performance feedback to shift personnel.
 - Act as the Incident Commander during emergencies until relieved. Coordinate immediate response to any incidents, spills, or equipment failures.
 - Provide detailed shift handover reports. Communicate shift performance and issues to oncoming shifts and management.
 - Document production data, update logbooks, track KPIs, and ensure accurate reporting of all shift activities.
 - Support onboarding and development of operators and ensure training records are current.
 - Drive continuous improvement / efficiency in line with the unit operating plan. 
 - Identify and recommend improvements to operating procedures, safety practices, and process controls.
   
   
  Qualifications: 
  
   - High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's Degree* in chemical engineering, process technology, or a related field preferred
 - Minimum 7 years of chemical plant experience 
 - Prior direct supervisory experience
 - Strong understanding of chemical plant operations, PSM (Process Safety Management), and environmental regulations
 - Proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate teams in a 24/7 operation
 - Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
 - Proficient in computer systems such as DCS, SAP, Microsoft Office
 - Willingness to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
 - Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) and possess a valid US Driver's license
