*Description*
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Technician for our team in Mount Pleasant, WI. This role is responsible for break-fix support of GPUs, servers, networking equipment, and cabling, as well as managing tickets through ITSM tools. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience deploying fully populated GPU and network racks in a data center environment, including rack movement, baying, leveling, grounding, hot-air containment, and overhead cable tray installation. Strong knowledge of Ethernet cabling technologies and the ability to interpret BOMs is essential. *Key Responsibilities* *Hardware Deployment & Maintenance* * Install, move, and inspect servers, switches, and GPUs. * Cable equipment according to wire maps and standards. * Perform break-fix tasks on servers, GPUs, network devices, and cabling. * Troubleshoot hardware issues and replace faulty components. * Update firmware and configure IP addresses and login credentials. * Assist with unboxing, prepping, and auditing servers and consumables. * Deploy and configure GPUs in servers, ensuring proper functionality. *Rack & Infrastructure Management* * Land and install fully populated GPU/network racks. * Perform rack movement, baying, leveling, grounding, and containment setup. * Rack and stack equipment; patch and label copper and fiber cables. * Install and manage optical modules (SFPs, QSFPs). * Scope and clean fiber connectors (SC, LC, MPO). * Work with DC power and DC-powered equipment. *Project & Team Coordination* * Lead and direct build activities related to data center operations. * Review build documentation and validate materials. * Ensure alignment with data center standards and safety protocols. * Manage multiple projects and prioritize team workload. * Provide advanced troubleshooting and ticket resolution. * Communicate progress using customer tracking tools, MS Office, and documentation. *Collaboration & Support* * Serve as liaison between team members and management. * Support network admins with server/switch issues and configurations. * Provide remote access setup for network configuration. * Respond to specific assistance requests from network teams. *Qualifications* *Experience* * 3-10+ years in data center deployment and break-fix roles. * Proven experience landing fully populated GPU/network racks. * Hands-on experience with Ethernet cabling (copper, fiber: SM, MM, MPO). * Familiarity with optical modules and fiber cleaning techniques. * Knowledge of telecom engineering designs for enterprise data centers. *Skills* * Rack and stack, cabling, fiber optics, Cat5/Cat6, troubleshooting. * Strong documentation and communication skills. * Ability to manage high-stress, multi-project environments. * Leadership and team coordination capabilities. * Scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, Bash) preferred. *Certifications (Preferred)* * CompTIA A+ / Server+ * CCENT / CCNA * MCP / MCSE * Windows OS experience *Additional Information* * Familiarity with ITSM tools for ticket management. * Ability to work in a fast-paced, enterprise-level data center environment. *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $49.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
